Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) is a product of condensation of polyvinyl alcohol and butyraldehyde under acid catalysis. PVB molecule has long branch chain, good flexibility, low glass transition temperature, high tensile strength and impact strength. PVB has excellent transparency, good solubility, good light resistance, water resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance and film formation. The functional groups contained in it can carry out various reactions such as the saponification reaction of the phthalic group, the acetylation and sulfonation of the hydroxyl group, and have high adhesion with glass, metal (especially aluminum) and other materials. Therefore, it has been widely used in manufacturing laminated safety glass, adhesive, ceramic flower paper, aluminum foil paper, electrical materials, FRP products, fabric treatment agents and other fields, and has become an indispensable synthetic resin material
Main purpose:
1. The prepared film is used as a sandwich material for making safety glass. The safety glass has good transparency and high impact strength, and is widely used in aviation and automobile fields.
2. It is used to manufacture anti-corrosion coating, metal primer and cold proof paint with strong anti rust ability, good adhesion and water resistance.
3. It can be used to produce film paper with bright patterns and can replace ceramic paper.
