First, use sturdy, safe, moisture-proof and heat-insulating storage equipment, and be clean and insect-free, which can not only ventilate but also prevent rats from harming. It is best to use jars and utensils. Do not wrap them in plastic bags. Otherwise, the alcohol, carbon dioxide, and water that the seeds produce during anaerobic respiration will reduce the germination rate and even lose vitality and germination.
Second, to ensure a dry storage environment, especially the recent rainfall should pay special attention. Because the seed is still undergoing metabolic activities during storage, the moisture content of the seed affects metabolic activity. If the seed has a high water content, it will accelerate the respiration of the seed, not only the seeds themselves, but also emit a lot of heat to burn the seeds. Therefore, maintaining the seed-dried storage environment can restrain the seed respiration to the minimum, effectively inhibiting the internal physiological activities of the seeds and the propagation of microorganisms.
Third, due to the heterogeneity of seeds, some of them are very similar in appearance. Many farmers' friends are difficult to distinguish only by their appearance. Therefore, the containers must be marked when they are stored. It is best to place labels on the inside and outside, and place them separately. In addition, heterogenous seeds can not be mixed with chemical fertilizers and pesticides, so as not to contaminate the seeds and reduce the germination rate.
Fourth, check and improve, strengthen seed storage management, find problems and take timely measures to remedy. For example, the temperature of the seeds should not be too high, usually the seed storage temperature should be controlled below 25 degrees Celsius; also pay attention to mice and insect pests.
