Rolls-Royce has announced that it has received a second design contract for its vessel, designed a 75-meter-long LNG powered vessel for Norwegian Eidsvaag for the Norwegian coastal fishery and provides the main supporting system.
The NVC 401 feed carrier is the latest in the Environship series. It is a wave-piercing ship that combines multiple technologies to increase efficiency while reducing pollution emissions. According to Rolls-Royce, the ship can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40% compared to similar diesel-powered ships.
The range of equipment supplied by Rolls-Royce also includes a Bergen C26:33L9PG gas engine with a power of 2430 kW and 1000 rpm, driving a Promas propulsion system and a CPP and steering gear. The reduction gearbox handles a 1100 kW shaft generator operating at variable speed HSG and two 400 kW auxiliary engines.
Rolls-Royce also supplied the ship with a DP1 system and joystick to ensure proper feed feeding. In addition, Rolls-Royce also offers a 110 cubic meter supply capacity LNG system capable of sailing 1,750 nautical miles, and engine, propeller control, integrated automation systems, gas control and monitoring systems, power systems, and more.
The ship will be built by STX OSV in Brattvåg, Norway. The hull is from the STX Romanian shipyard. It has a total length of 74.7 meters, a width of 13.6 meters and a draft of 5 meters for 8 crew members.
