India plans to replace 100 LED street lights nationwide

According to reports, the Indian Lighting Association (ELCOMA) said that the Indian Ministry of Urban Development has asked the state government 100 to replace LED street lights. The renovation project will replace 27.5 million street lamps with LED street lights, which will reduce India's electricity consumption by more than 5,000 megawatts in three years. The demand was put forward after the Street Light Survey conducted by the Energy Efficiency Bureau (BEE). The survey results showed that the installation of the 80-street lamp in India was unqualified. Factors such as pole distance, type and luminaire height are not taken into account, indicating that lighting is not the only reason to replace a street light. The Indian government has appointed Energy Saving Services Limited (EESL) to raise funds and install LED systems. These street lights will be replaced in stages. EESL has begun to develop qualification specifications for qualified suppliers to ensure good quality LED street lights.
