In recent years, nanoporous metal-organic framework compounds (MOFs) have shown promising applications in gas adsorption and separation, heterogeneous catalysis, sensors and microreactors. Chinese Academy of Sciences Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Resources Light Metals and Battery Materials Group, a series of transition metal oxides and their composites were synthesized. These materials have high specific discharge capacity and good cycling stability. MOF template synthesis of lithium ion battery anode materials made a series of research progress.

Researchers found that the coprecipitation technique can effectively adsorb metal cations onto the surface of tellurium nanowires with excellent conductivity. After adding the organic ligand solution, the ligands coordinate with the metal ions on the surface of tellurium nanowires to form MOF nuclei, The nuclei grow into MOF crystals, finally the tellurium nanowires are embedded into the MOF in situ. After heat treatment, a multi-metal oxide nanocomposite with a hierarchical porous structure can be prepared (as shown).
The specific capacity of the nanocomposites stabilized at 956mAhg-1 after charging and discharging for 100 times at the current density of 100mAg-1 in the voltage range of 0.01-3.0V. When the charge-discharge current density was 2000mAg-1, the specific capacity was still as high as 307mAhg -1, showing excellent electrochemical energy storage characteristics.
