“Sura” invades the flooded farmland in southeast Jiangxi

Nanchang, August 4th, was informed by the water conservancy department in Jiangxi Province that due to the influence of typhoon No. 9 typhoon “Sura”, significant rainfall occurred in southeastern Jiangxi, with moderate to heavy rain in some areas, and eight townships and eight gusts occurred in some townships. Road farmland was flooded.

According to the data from the water conservancy department of Jiangxi's Qianshan County, from August 2 to 4th, due to Typhoon No. 9 “Sula”, heavy rainfall occurred in Qianshan County, Jiangxi Province and Wuyishan District in the south of Shangrao County, with a rainfall of 294 mm. Short-term concentrated rainfall led to outbreaks of mountain torrents. Water levels in small and medium-sized rivers soared. Local collapses and landslides occurred along rivers. Some farmland and some rural roads were flooded.

Among them, 18,400 people from 3 towns and villages in Wuyishan, Qibi, and Tianzhushan in Qishan County were affected. 32 houses collapsed, causing direct economic losses of 89.12 million yuan, and emergency transfer of 1948 people under threat. At present, no casualties reported.

Affected by heavy rainfall, Gaotian Town, Shicheng County, Jiangxi Province has a daily rainfall of 330 mm. The peak water level of Shicheng City is 225.61 meters. The water level exceeds the warning level by 0.01 meters. Zhukeng Township, Shicheng County has transferred more than 400 people. As of 7 o'clock on the 4th, Qinjiang Shicheng tributary Qinjiang Station alert level of 0.11 meters, Meijiang, Gongshui and other downstream sections of the river approaching the warning level.

The Jiangxi Meteorological Observatory issued a series of heavy rain blue early warning signals and heavy rain yellow early warning signals on the 4th. According to the report, the next 12 hours, affected by the low-pressure circulation after the “Sula” weakened, the accumulated rainfall in Zhangzhou, Ji’an, Pingxiang, Jiujiang, Yichun, and Fuzhou can be Above 50mm, local lightning and short-term heavy rainfall.
